Celebrating Girls in Tech Day 2021 with SheTech

Utah’s official third annual Girls in Tech Day 2021 was recognized early in a STEM-focused Hill Air Force Base edition on March 18th. We held a virtual live stream to share interviews with real-life STEM experts and engineers from the base.  Check out the full video of the event below and access additional videos of each interview for even more Q&A insights we couldn’t pack into just one hour!

Listen to Captain Kristin “Beo” Wolfe, the first Air Force female F-35 demonstration team pilot,  and commander of the team, for an inside look on the high-tech gear she works with when she’s soaring through the skies. Ever wondered what leadership opportunities or STEM jobs might be available on the base for civilians? Take a look and explore many other exciting interviews with an Air Force colonel, mechanical and aerospace engineers, and even a computer scientist to learn more about how they landed their career working in STEM on the Hill.

What is Girls in Tech Day? In 2019, the Women Tech Council partnered with the legislature and Governor of Utah to become the first state in the nation to declare March 20th as Girls in Tech Day. Dedicating this day to the next generation of girls in STEM shows Utah’s commitment to accelerating the number of girls in the talent pipeline and recognizes the need to unite industry, education, community, and government in this effort.
